cannot view pics. - 11/9/2002 14:52:08
[:' (] I published a website for a friend last night. all the pics are coming up for me. She is using same version of IE 6.0. she says that when she pulls up the site, all the pics have x' s where the pic is s' pose to be. I' ve seen this before, occasionally on sites i' ve visited, but didn' t know y it happens. She had a friend go to the site and same thing for her. Except she was able to view one image on the bottom of the home page, but not the other pages. Most of the pics are jpg. a few are gif, as needed. please help. btw. I' m a newbie. My friend needed the site, I had the program, and wanted to learn how. If you need to see, the addy is www.theverything.com Thanks for your time.

Yeah, I can vouch for this. I had this same problem when I was working on a site for my school project and I first had to make sure I had the images in my site that I was building in the actual Frontpage program on my hard drive and I did so I though I was set. But then when I uploaded it, I saw broken links too so I went back and then realized for all my effort at making sure they were in the site on the hard drive, I hadn' t actually uploaded those image files from my hard drive when I was on the net! So I did and then they worked, on one computer, but not on the other, and we think that our school computers' server was having problems so testing on multiple computers is also good to do. By the way, what I used was the " File Manager" in Geocities. Good luck! --Ariel
