Icons in Address Bar - 11/10/2002 1:54:30
This may sound simple, but what code do you use to change the icon in the address bar? Specifically, I' m using IE 6 and would like to have the page change the IE icon. Thanks in advance!

Hi Rex, It is not code - it is a graphics file... specifically a .bmp in special format, which is saved as an .ico file. You need to create a favicon.ico with a special program (like Microangelo) then place that file in your root directory on the web. It also helps greatly to refer to it from the headers of your pages with: <link rel=" SHORTCUT ICON" href=" favicon.ico" > You can read more about it here: Favicon.com Favicons will only work in MSIE to my knowledge. [edit]Clarification: Favicons now work in IE5+, Mozilla 1.0, Netscape 7 plus the new Opera 7.0 [/edit] Good luck

As a PS, I think the pixel size should be about 16x16
