REAL basic... - 4/18/2001 21:03:00
Hi guys,

Sorry to be so basic here, but if you can help me out with what is obviously a simple first step (which I'm having trouble with...) then my life will be so much easier! When I want to create a new site in Frontpage 2000, a new page opens up by default. I start typing / adding images etc., then save the page. I want this to be my Home Page. Do I have to rename the page "home_page" or "index.html" or whatever? I seem to end up with an index page created by Frontpage PLUS the page I just created. Can you help? More importantly, do you understand the question??? If someone could just go through the initial couple of steps for me, I know I can get it sorted.

Again, sorry to be so basic, but I've obviously missed something in the tutorial... Then again, I'm in New Zealand - maybe it's something in the water...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Phil O'Brien

Hi Phil. I'm from NZ too and you've come across a great forum.

I would just delete the index page Front Page created and rename your own one to index.htm This is what your home page should be called.
