Publishing a single file - 4/19/2001 20:08:00
Does anyone know how to publish a single file instead of the entire web in FrontPage 2000.

I want a user to be an editor, and publish only the files they have reviewed.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to do this in FP2000. From what I've heard, the next version does allow you to publish a single page. I for one am looking forward to that!

You can go into view>reports>publish status and change the files to don't publish except for the one you want to publish.

WOW! Thanks Shirley! I wasn't aware that you could do that. You've just made my day!

Just make sure you remember that you have it set to don't publish.

I once published and re-published a site 5 times because the page wouldn't update. Guess why! I still had the page set at don't publish. Boy did I feel stupid.

Depending on your server admin, there may be a way to simulate that though. I use an approach where individuals are responsible for their content. As such they have rights (permissions) to author the contents of their folder(pages). It is a little painful doing the initial config, but it keeps them involved, so that's the payoff.
