" Server Error" FrontPage Photo Gallery - 12/10/2002 7:32:14
Never run into this before.

I' ve made changes to a web page which contains a FrontPage Photo Gallery. I' ve made text changes to the page itself, and some text changes in the " description" area within the gallery.

When I publish I get a " server error" message. I visit the page and the changes to the text appear; but no changes take place in the description area.

Don' t know if you need to look at the page or not, but here it is:

http://www.gtbdesign.com/camera/composition.htm

Any thoughts?

thanks, gail

Gail,

This may be a long shot. Have you recalculated you web & checked your server extensions?

Only time I had problem with photo gallery this worked.

Erin

What kind of error are you getting?

Is it the " server timed out" error or something else?

Erin, what does recalcutate my web mea? Ironically, I was just reading something about this yesterday and was meaning to ask, though it specifically spoke about recalculating hyperlinks.

How do I check server extensions? Isn' t that something the host does? And why would part of a page update, but not the other?

Bobbie, it simply states there is a " Server Error." Everything was fine and dandy until I added a few words in one of the thumbnail description fields.

:)

Gail,

Recalcutate the web/hyperlinks & checking server extensions is something the host does. You can ask them to check it.

And why would part of a page update, but not the other? - no clue.

The Photo Gallery get quirky at times. I know it worked for me.

Gail

Have you tried waiting a couple hours and trying again?

Try closing the web and FP, then come back to it in a couple hours and try again...

If you have time, please checkout the link again. Do you see the gallery? Here' s what the page looks like now:

Have you tried manually removing the ../ from the file path? Just for curiosity sake...

And why is the <strong>bla bla bla</strong> there? That' s what it' s displaying on your page...
Compare this code with your other albums and see if they are similar..?

The code in the same page on my drive only says this:

<div align=" center" >
<center>
<table border=" 0" cellspacing=" 0" width=" 90%" cellpadding=" 0" bordercolor=" #111111" >
<tr>
<td width=" 100%" height=" 589" >
<div align=" center" >
<!--webbot bot=" PhotoAlbum" U-Include=" ../photogallery/photo5165/real.htm" clientside TAG=" BODY" --></div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</center>
</div>

Working on this for hours; all day up until five minutes ago nothing worked right.

Just tried it again this moment, making no changes. Now it' s all working. I suppose I should be thrilled.

Thanks for everyone' s help. You' re a great bunch of folk!
