I have been getting the following error message message when I uplaod my site -- " 500 ORT not understood 500 LPRT not understood"

Does anyone have an idea of what this means and how can I solve it?

I have recalculated my links and use FP2002

I am a beginner with front page. I created a slideshow and when I upload it I get the exact same error message.

If I try to upload again it will go the second time but the page doesn't look the same as when I preview it.

anyone have any ideas?

Can you give me some more information?

What type of files are you uploading?
The amount of space left on your account?
The address of your account?
The way you are uploading(http/ftp in frontpage?)
Do you get this error everytime you upload, if not, what files create this error?

That might help figure out a little better what could be causing this. Who is your host?

Try this. Right-click on anyone of your html files, and then select Publish File. This will publish only that specific file, please be sure to use the "root" directory, being www.yourdomain.com and not www.yourdomain.com/afolder

500 LPRT is an "invalid port" error - what OS is the server and what is the web server?

i am getting the same error. I am running thru a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. If i connect directly to my cable modem, no problem. Frontpage publishes instantly. or if i connect via dialup it publishes SLOWLY (go figger) but put the router in there and 90 secs after initiating publishing "500 ORT not understood; 500 LPRT not understood"

Is there a port that we should be opening to make it work?

Curt

Hello:

This is my first visit to this forum as a result of encountering this same type of error when attempting to upload web pages to site server. I had recently changed from a wired router to a wireless router. Upload worked with wired but not wireless (both Linksys).
I upgraded the firmware but still had the problem. The resolution for mine turned out to be the "port triggering" settings. The wireless had no entries but the wired router did. As soon as I entered them on the wireless router and re-booted, the upload worked. Hopefully, this will be helpful to anyone else having the same problem.
