Question on switching servers - 12/19/2002 10:35:55
When changing hosts do you need to have editing software(ie FP) on your computer to make sure the site will look right when uploaded or can it be done without?
Here' s the procedure:
Change DNS info to new host
download all files to computer
upload to new host
check all links work and site looks Ok
Cancel old hosting account
Did I miss anything?

You should probably download first, then switch DNS. You can probably upload to a temp site with your new host and test almost everything (depending on how your site is set up and what it does).
