Login problem - 12/21/2002 10:07:27
Until a few days ago, I was able to login to my ISP' s server via frontpage with no problems, I do most of my editing online. Now when I try to login I get the following: I login with username: [username] Password: [password] the login form returns with - username: www. [my domain] \ [username] Password: [password] and I can' t get in. The whole thing seems to coinside with a Windows XP Pro security update. This is driving me crazy! Do I reinstall XP or Frontpage (as my ISP suggest), or is it the server extensions?

Try to have the ISP re-create the account. That means delete the account and then set-up a new one.

ISP closed for christmas, back on the 7th - I have now gone crazy. I am about to reinstall XP. However there are other wierd things happening: I have two web sites, I can get into site A via FP from home but not site B and from work its the other way round (site B and not site A). I can' t afford to lose all this time!!! HELP!!!! I feel a new ISP coming on!!!

Hey Vince, Is it possible to get some URLS? site A and B? Still sounds like authentication and the XP upgrade. Did the ISP change anything? quote:

I' d rather not give you the ULR' s as the work is far from finished and the client is a bit sensitive, but site A is a .com and site B is .co.uk The ISP say they have not changed anything and that they have yet again re-installed FPSE. Have Windows changed the way XP sends passwords?
