using input form for update also - 6/23/2001 20:44:00
I currently have a "input" form that I use to add records to my database. I would like to be able to have user search and have the results appear in the input from for update. Any suggestions.?

Using the DRW, I believe you will need to DRW pages. One for calling the record to be updated and one to update the record.

Spooky wrote an article on updating records. Here is the link:

Also, a link to Microsoft:

You know I looked at the article but it doesnt mention where the format would be to take the text of the search and apply them to each field in my form.

To do that, you would need

1) A search form
2) A results page
3) A form page
4) A process page.

1) User enters search
2) Results get displayed. A Unique ID is presented as a link to the form page.
3) The form page is loaded and populated with the results from the database (for that UID)
Results are posted to 4 ->
4) Updates the record.
