Site Progressing... Critique - 1/19/2003 14:10:33
This site is 700+ pages, so it is taking time, but please look and tell me what you think so far.

Also, the CSS... all of the links are cobalt blue to begin with on the top... how do I change that??

http://breastfeed.net

Thanks!

Do this for your links in the css:

Change this...
quote:

.top A:link {color: #666666; text-decoration: none;}

To this...
quote:

A.top:link {color: #666666; text-decoration: none;}

That should straighten those out.

Critique:
Only my opinion, but I think the borders surrounding your navigation(?) elements to the left and right of the content would look more...uhhh...underwhelming if it was a tad bit thinner. It seems to overpower the gray content as my eyes were continuously drawn to either side.

Even now I can' t help but looking on both sides as they clearly stand out more than the actual content.:)

Can you check again -- I did the " navigation" in gray... does it look any better?

While I certainly understand why you' ve used a preponderance of flesh tones, I' d like to see another color added to the site as an accent. Add some " life" in addition to flesh.

Much of the text appears small on my 17" monitor. The font Verdana shows very well at eight point, though it is san serif, so you may wish to consider it. Or increase some of the current font sizes.

Also, is the phrase " baby auctions" widely understood?! At first I thought you were literally talking about Auctions, as an alternative to adoption or abortion. Maybe the current " younger generation" better understands this terminology; others of us do not. But young folk are the target of your audience so my comment about this may be moot.

Otherwise, I like the site. Very nicely done!

IMHO, I would still go with a thinner outline overall.

Hi Summer,
One thing I noticed, and perhaps its due to aging eyes, was that the font color of " 666666" seemed to blend into the background and make reading of the text difficult.
