While I' m not a designer, I do sell a web-based service ( SEO) and have run into similiar problems with clients who think my fees are high and just know they can get a better " deal" somewhere. Guess who my best salesman is? My competition. Once people find out what they charge and how they operate, I hear from them again. Happens all the time.... The second best sales tool I have is my client roster, both past and present. Some of my clients are my biggest cheerleader and send/draw a lot of attention and business my way. Because of this, I now work with a large number of referrals which assures me of quality clients who already know about what I do -- and what I charge! Keep offering quality work at reasonable prices and people will come. Nice people do finish first!!
