Security error? - 1/24/2003 9:07:47
I made several Webpages with Frontpage and placed them on an intranet. The Intranet is secure. I need to place certain hyperlinks from this secure intranet onto a MS Word file, Well I keep getting a security error when these hyperlinks are opened up, Does anyone know how to get around this minor problem with word and it opening withour a security error?
Thanks
Rian

Mmm....

  • How exactly do you mean the " Intranet is secure" ? Is it behind a firewall with no access to the internet?
  • Are you connected to the intranet when you follow the link in your Word document?

It is Https, I have internet access, and yes I am connected to the internet while I am working with the word document.

If your intranet is not " visible" to the internet then the links in your Word document will have no way to get back to the page s on the intranet.......

HTTPS does not mean your intranet is secure..... Only that the connection between your browser and the server with a SSL certificate is encrypted.

open the event viewer. You should have some kind of entry about an access being denied and why....

if it' s not in there, search for a file called wecerr.txt. there might be something in this file that can tell you why access is being denied...
