Web Hosting Services - 1/24/2003 11:12:11
Hello,

I have very little knowledge of website design, HTML, etc. I did create 2 websites (one for our kennel, and the other for our business) about 2 years ago using the book titled " Sam' s Teach Yourself HTML 4 in 24 Hours" . They have served our purpose, but I decided it' s time to revamp and try to design something a little more professional looking. It was suggested that I try Microsoft FrontPage. Just received my trial version, but before I spend time using this product to redo my websites, I would like to know if I will still be able to use my current web hosting services. I currently use RCN (formerly Interport Communications), do they support front page features? Thanks for any advice. Frankie

Why not ask them?

Hi, Frankie -

You can use FP without having Frontpage extensions installed on the server, but while some FP features will work, others you won' t be able to use.

If your host offers FP extensions, but discourages using them.... don' t listen to them! The worse part of the deal is they won' t want to support FP well, the good thing is you' ll have us to help you out if you have any questions.

Most hosts are FP friendly, so there probably won' t be any problems. :)

Linda
