Permissions - 1/28/2003 10:53:42
My question is, If I want to use FrontPage permissions how do I go about limiting access to folders. I do have users in my master list, and categories, but I am lost and confused. How do I proceed. I currently have 38 to 42 web authors, and I manage 25,981 files and around 70,592 links.

A little more background!
We currently have a live site, a production site and a test site.
the Live site does not have FrontPage server extensions
the production site does have FrontPage server extensions, however permissions are managed manually
the test site is where I am working on the configuration of FrontPage, again I am running FrontPage 2000 server extensions, on IIS 5.0, with windows 2000 server, do not mange permissions manually.

On the production site we currently do not use workgroups, or task options two feathers the I would like to utilizes due to the large amount of content to manage with in our site. The authors range in experience to inexperienced.

Why else would you jump into a forum and post information on getting help elsewhere at the same time as asking a question?

Sorry, I find that odd to say the least.
