Do you use giveaways for marketing? - 2/3/2003 20:19:39
Just wondering if anyone gives away freebies as part of their marketing. You know, stuff like post-it-note pads with your biz name imprinted on them, stress balls, coffee cups.... etc. I was thinking of coffee cups as " thank you for your business" type gifts, but though the prices are low, the minimum quantites are high. If you do anything like this and have a resource, could you share your thoughts?

the most popular thing that we have used was christmas cards that run into desk calendars. Very cheap and very effective. the mai thought on what to use is simply - what would you use? ie. have something that your client or prospective client will use. Make sure your branding is clearly displayed and evey time the item is used it will reinforce your company. Other good ones are desk diaries, mouse mats, coasters and screensavers

I have always been a big fan of decent pens, with the company name and web address etched in them, but these can run quite costly (about $4 a pop but you have to buy at least 50 here in Oz at the moment - stylish pen with rubber grip). We have been looking at all this sort of stuff ourselves of late. Mouse mats are not a bad idea either (I like the coffee cup concept too). We are about to get new work shirts (our logo embroided on them and the web address embroided across the back - drill shirts probably). Have been thinking about things like what TB has just made available with outFront on them. Like the idea of hats and surf beanies too, for that something a little different.
