Consultant Site finished - 2/4/2003 17:31:36
Hi All,

Just finished this one and would love feedback. They have not nailed down the hosting yet so it is on the back of another site.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry

Why not fill the right hand side with colour too - as you have it at the moment it' s all a bit uneven - here' s an example of what I mean http://www.arnabatgroup.com/english/gunitecnic/index.htm where the colour stretches to the right. The company name text looks a bit jagged - you might want to look into smoothing that out a bit - the same with the diagonal black bar. The divisions page has a wider bar at the bottom and I' d think about making the page link you' re on non-clickable and with the over red image of the button.

Should be a smart site.

Cheers
Andy

You' re going to have to fix your form. It will not work when " [FrontPage Save Results Component]" is showing. There was an entire thread on this fairly recently so doing a search will provide info on how to fix.

I think a san-serif text such as arial may read better on the gold background color.

Barry,

It' s just me I' m absolutely sure but I just can' t do the stick the page to the top of the browser and who cares about all that space at the bottom stuff.:) It just doesn' t seem balanced to me.

Andy,

Thats a perfect suggestion:) thanks.

Gail, - I know the form is not right because the site is not on its permanent server. Thats when I tie down all the FP server stuff and stuff,

Thanks Guys,
Barry

Mike,

I agree. Is there a way to have IE center vertically?

Thanks
Barry

None that I' m aware of but there are a lot of pros around here.:) Remember though, it' s only my opinion but I understand you like to keep your " Home" pages small and clean (as do I).:)

I am seeing some sort of strange disintegration of your image on the home and alliances pages , are some of the slices missing or something? Not sure - will have a look at the code later. It looks like this though (IE6):

I see that, too, but I see that a lot with sliced sites and it clears up when I refresh. That looks pretty dramatic in Katherine' s example, almost like you might have some closing </td>' s on the next line.

Katherine and EWD,

That pattern follows the slice scheme that I let the prgram do. For some odd reason I can' t get the same effect Katherine has.

Thats what I get for letting the program pick the slices.[:j]

Fool me once,...................

Thanks,
Barry

The problem with the image slicing shows when you increase the text size, but that wouldn' t explain the " fixing" of it for EWD on reloading. It' s also very slow to load it page for me (dial-up connection).

Why not forgo the rollovers and slicing and just put arrows pointing to each link?

Would it be possible to do the black section with links as a transparent gif with the photos as a table background? Just a thought.. I' m not sure if you can set it up properly for NN.

I' d rather see Arial or Verdana instead of Times New Roman for the text.

Overall I really like it!

Quick solve would be to specify the font size in CSS and not let it change.

Linda

A couple of things, buddy:):

1. Divisions Page: There' s a heckofalot of extra background color on the bottom underneath the footer. The page itself is not centered like the rest of the site.

2. I can' t figure out for the life of me why each page loads the images as if it' s the first time. Most of them look the same as all the other pages. Have you tagged them differently? Or maybe when you exported the FW(?) slices you forgot to weed out the duplicates?:)

3. Here' s an image that shows to ' errors' : (a) the continuation of the text and, (b) the extra background color at the end of the page, which is on all the pages by the way.
