Go back in and triple check that you have activated the account with funds and commenced your campaign. I recall changing things once & ended up with a new ad that I didnt push the all important button for. Waited for an hour and still nothing. But got there in the end (& I had run many campaigns previously)

are u saying that i have to put funds into an account first, and then get billed? according to google: quote:
Google sets a credit limit of £50 (or your currency equivalent) on each account when it is activated. An account is billed after it reaches its credit limit or after 30 days, whichever comes first the account has been activated.

Just give Google a credit card and you will be fine. I have never figured out what causes the frequency of my charges to be all over the place. I advertise around $300 per day and get billed/charged every 3 to 6 days. I have had the same problems that Gary mentioned. Also, the Google estimate of what your daily spending should be is not always accurate. If you have a $30 daily limit - Google attempts to spread that over the entire day. If more people are clicking your ads than what is estimated then Google will spread your ads out and you will not see them as often. Try temporarily bumping your daily limit up and see if your ad comes up more often. Don' t forget to turn it down! I once got wacked hard because I forgot to lower a bid amount after experimenting. Hope this helps.

Hi Moose I have been using adwords with reasonable success (I assume). But it depends on your market and whether they are browsers or buyers. I used to throw all my $$ at goto aka overture and battle for #3 posn every few days. (some guys were aggressive in their pricing THen adwords came along & I was lonely there for a while (then the competition arrived & upped the $$). Try to get a few kewyords that are more concise (refer to your logs) as the singular terms if very generic will drop off as the " click thru rate" is not reached. Ie I have one for ' Katherine' (being the town I live in), but every second person on earth is called Katherine (aka abbeyvet) so the actual people not looking for the town see our ad, do not click on it & the relevance of that keyword is diminished, .........then Google says sorry, pick some more words to add to it. So on to ' Katherine Northern Territory' , stays up longer as the click through rate is better, but less people actually type all the keywords in. ( " northern Territory" on its own just dropped off again............as the last 1000 viewings didnt get enough clicks) It is always a battle to work out what people are searching in for and then get the right people to come your way with relevancy & return on investment. Google has worked out cheap for me (compared to overture) with most referrals coming from Googs. But it comes back to basics of creating and optimising your site to do well without you having to fork out $$. Try your keywords on Teoma & alltheweb & you may be pleasantly surprised at how much they like your site compared to google. Depending on your market, Overtures target Countries bidding might be an option, ie I bid in Germany for a few keywords as they have a good market for my didgeridoos. mojojojo you must be getting a good return on your advertising ! Cheers from the Outback

the best thing that I' ve found about adwords is that you can make is specific so product so that any click thru have a higher possiblity of sales. quote:
ORIGINAL: Mojojojo But, the best $$ maker I have found --- spam email. I had to do this for a company I was recently working for and let me tell you.... it is going to be hard to stop spam. For every 2 people that sent flaming emails to us there must have been $1000 in sales! If you are a company in need of cash and don' t care about your short term reputation within a small circle spam will make boatloads of money. sad but true.

Micah, Some of my clients have had a great deal of success with Google Ads word. We found a category that related to their business & first month they had 8 sales. Considering their product is in the higher range. Money is well spent. Other client is also having good results. Just make sure the category is what best suits you. Erin
