FP server extensions and virtual servers - 2/11/2003 4:44:20
Has anyone ever had a problem with IIS not allowing you to configure FP server extensions for a single virtual server on a server hosting multiple virtual servers ALL of which are configured with the FPSEs? I' ve got that problem. Just one virtual won' t behave. I can even create new virtuals and IIS will allow me to configure server extensions for that new site. However, just 1 site - one designated as IIS' s " default web site" (but which appears as a separate virtual under the Internet Services Manager tree) - no longer offers me the ability to configure server extensions. This virtual buggered out after installing the latest W2K server patches. I' ve checked to see if the patch altered any settings but haven' t been able to find any difference in the settings that attached to the default site settings. I' ve got a sneaking suspicion this may involve an altered security setting or, worse, something in the registry has been mucked up. If you' ve ever experienced this problem tell be about your workaround. Perhaps my prior post of 2/9 relating to this issue was a bit too much to digest so I' m simplifying the issue: Have you ever been unable to configure the SEs for a single virtual on a machine that you know the SEs are working for multiple other virtuals?
