Hyperlinks with Word2000 as editor in FrontPage - 4/23/2001 18:29:00
I use Word 2000 to create and edit some of the home pages that are managed by FrontPage2000. So under FrontPage, I can double click an htm file, and Word 2000 will be invoked as the editor. Problem: I have a web page called folder1/index.htm That page has a hyperlink to two word documents in folder1/doc1.doc and folder2/doc2.doc Frontpage Hyperlinks view of folder1/index.htm show doc1.doc to be a Word document and doc2.doc to be file:///d:documents and settings/.../doc2.doc Hyperlink to doc1.doc behaves as expected. However, if I rename doc2.doc or move it to another folder, FrontPage2000 does not dynamically update the hyperlink in folder1/index.htm. This is an annoyance. Did I do something wrong with creating the hyperlink to folder2/doc.doc in Word2000 to lose the flexibility?

If you have FrontPage 2000, why not save yourself some anguish and use it to create the pages and links?------------------

This is the root of all the problems. Word is a good - even great, word processor, but a really bad tool for HTML and web development. ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Is there another word for synonym?"
