Merchant Account/Payment Processing - 3/6/2003 12:41:50
Hey guys, I' m with an internet etailer company that is about 2 weeks from launch. And we' re still researching which Merchant Account and Payment Gateway to use. We' re looking for something kind of on the cheap. Right now we' re looking into using Securenet from Securenetshop.com. That seems to be the cheappest way and is compatible with our StoreFront shopping cart. But I' d like to hear what you guys have to say about current experiences with some companies and the like or any advice you might have.

Hi,

I have been using AuthorizeNet since I started four years ago. They have always been nice to work with. I do not have any negatives at all.

I' ve been using authorize.net also for about 2 months, no complaints here. I also use PayPal. I didn' t know that they could process credit cards also, they might be worth checking out.

However. Authorize.net provides better details (invoice number for example) and seems to have a more professional " feel" to it.

Hi,

Outfront currently uses Authorize.net and CardserviceInternational. Personally, from a customer service stantpoint, I would recommend CardserviceInternational. They are both secure, quality companies, but from a service standpoint, Cardservice International should definitely be an option for you.

Just and aside...

Bonnie, does that service let you view AVS for outside the US? Always looking for one that does.

TIA,

Brian

Reflect,

I' m sorry for the delay in responding...Tom is sick as a dog and I am so backed up.

No. Cardservice Int. does not offer AVS outside of the US. What a shame, too. I do not think any of them do. We would love it as I' m sure every American merchant would, but address methods differ so throughout the world that it would be quite tricky...valuable as all get out...but tricky.

Bonnie

Hi,

Thanks for the followup Bonnie, bummer but what I expected. Hope Tom feels better and tell him not to pass it on to you and the kids :).
