Thanks for the update Susan :) The synchronizing feature seems intrigueing, can' t wait to try it. Great question Stevec! My recent 2 hosts are running linux boxes, and even though they have FP02 extensions, the big thing they are pushing is php/mySQL which is amazing if one can figure it all out (esp. when one has only used asp/access). Wouldn' t it be nice to see a wysiwyg database builder for php/mySQL :)

Susan, Have you had a chance to look at the Photogallery? I use it extensively and would really like to see it improved.

Well, results are inconclusive so far. It took a bit to find it but I finally did and, honestly, it looks just like the old version. But, maybe I don' t remember it too well. I' ve been using a piece of freeware - EGG (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tirain/egg/) to make my galleries (http://susandennis.org/fotos/). I might just take one of those galleries and give it a ride in Photo Gallery today. I' ll let you know if I discover anything...

Susan, I didn' t notice in your earlier posts if you have the FP 2003 extensions loaded on your server. I assume that such a beast exists and am curious about the ease/difficulty of installing and maintaining them.

Excellent question! And, no, I did nothing to my own server and nothing to the remote (hosted-by-other) servers. I forgot all about it! I do think that maybe the extension thing this time is really SharePoint. When I plugged ' extension' into the help, I got lots of hits on SharePoint. Here' s the one with the most info: (For a variety of reasons we will not be using SharePoint here at my work.) ----------------------------------------------------------- When you design your Web site by using Microsoft FrontPage, you can turn support on or off for features that require SharePoint Services (SharePoint Team Services v1.0 from Microsoft or Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0). The following Web components are available in FrontPage only if you turn on support for SharePoint Services: Web Search Top 10 List List View Document Library View Note List View and Document Library View are available only if you are authoring your Web site for SharePoint Team Services v1.0. To create interactive lists and document libraries for a Web site that uses Windows SharePoint Services 2.0, you can use Web Parts.

Just thought I would give a little bit of a warning here .... I installed the FP2003 beta .... still keeping FP2k2 ..... nothing abnormal happened during installation ..... I then decided to have the beta on my other computer ..... so put it on there. Uninstalled it from main computer ...... using the control panel ...... everything went wrong afterwards. It messed up the installer ..... each time opened FP2k2 the installer tried to instal ... features in 2k2 would not work, including in folders view ... no text, so could not see which file was which .. worst of all, could not do a detect and repair or even uninstall FP2k2 ...... came back with mesage " patch package could not be opened" ..... spoke to a few friends who have the beta ... they experimented and uninstalled .... with two of them the same thing happened ..... Microsoft site gives a download of an Office 2000 Windows Installer Cleanup utility ... but not for installer msi.dll later than version 2 ..... or for WinXP which I have ...... I took a chance and downloaded the cleanup utility for Win 2000 ... and it worked. So if any of you get the same problem, here is the Microsoft link for the download of the clean up utility.. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;238413 you need the Msciuu.exe one.
