crawler2.googlebot.com - 3/26/2003 22:23:18
i added some stats to my site by my isp. the stats show many things like who is visiting the website right now. I' ve been checking on this cause i think it kinda neat, it been over 20 days and i check it about 4 times a day, every time there is a crawler from google on the site either crawler1.googlebot.com, or crawler2.googlebot.com , or crawler3.googlebot.com and sometimes a combination of two of them. this is what the stats say:

IP Address 64.68.86.54
Reverse DNS crawler2.googlebot.com
From / Via n/a
Origin Location Not Available
Time Spent 14 min
Hits / Kilobytes 2 / 0.69Kb
Browser Tag Googlebot/2.1 ( http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)
Referring URL

Date and Time URL
2003-03-26 21:49:53 - user created
2003-03-26 21:49:53 /_vti_bin/fpcount.exe
2003-03-26 22:04:18 /_vti_bin/fpcount.exe

My question is... why are they visiting /_vti_bin/fpcount.exe and what is the exe file?

Hi,

I would and do create a robots.txt. Upload it to the root of your site. Google will totally abide by the exclusions that you state in it..

Here is a good start for you...
