" Publish web" Problems - 4/3/2003 1:37:24
I have just formatted " c" and reinstalled win98 SE and Office 2000 Prem,
I am Hosted at Winsave and when I try to " publish web" I get a login window that says " this operation requires author permission for (www.mywebsite.com):80, the problem is that I enter my user ID and password and the upload starts, then the login window reappears and wants me to login again, I do and the upload starts again , then the same thing happens over and over. Do I have some setting set wrong? I checked with winsave and uninstalled my server extensions and reinstalled them.. Same thing. I sure would appreciate some help with this.
Thanks,
RJK

I had this happen before once, when I' d made some adjustments to my systme (I' ve forgotten what) and beat my head against the keyboard many times before I called my host for help. They reset the permissions on the web site (and I think the server extension too) and voila! It magically started working again. It just coincidently happen to happen when I' d piddled with my PC, but it was them!

This might not be your situation, but you might try giving your host a call.

I hope this helps,
Andrew

That happened to me once, too. What I had to do was contact my host and they told me to publish it to the ftp address instead of the www.mysite.com address.
