NIX server locales - 4/4/2003 8:02:17
Hi All, When using PHP functions like setlocale for country specific functions on a UNIX / Linux server, it depends on a locale pack being installed as part of the OS as far as I know. Normally they are just there. One time I was working on a Linux server and they weren' t, but the host knew what to do. Now I am working on a server where they are not there but the host does not know what to do to install them and is asking me. Does anyone administer Unix / Linux servers who can tell me anything about how to install locale packs and where to get them to get this host sorted and in case this comes up again ? Thanks in anticipation Vince

hey vince... sometimes it looks to me like they just need to be in the " languages" folder for some apps.... also I know that the instructions for the locales is usually in a read me file, that accompanies the scripts.... hope it helps...
