WEBBOT - 8/29/2001 20:54:00
Frontpage has some prewritten code stored in a WEBBOT.
1) What is a WEBBOT

2) Were do I go to change the pre-written
code (WEBBOT)

THANK YOU

A webbot automates some task to save you the developer from having to manualy code it. You theoereticly can not change a webbots code but every webbot ussually has a set of properties that you can modify based on your needs.

Ive written information how to do this in my advanced section on databases below.

Often theres 2 lots of code created (in html view) The "settings" which are normally gray, and the actual code which may be red.

The gray can be modified, but the red cant.

If the web bot is removed, the generated actual code can sometimes be reused.

Oooops - you get the keys back, btw - inbox is now 8 feet deep and I think the keys were somewhere at around 4 and 1/2 feet when I last saw them

Besides the Database and the now infamous spooky diet though, am I right in the assumption that the modifiable grey code is the same as the properties boxes that you modify right from within the FP WYSIWYG mode?

You can do some other "webbot" properties for forms etc, discussions etc

As long as you follow the same format and keep the changes simple, you can play with the bots.
But I dont guarantee what may happen
