" allow scripts and programs to run" is all ... - 4/10/2003 13:20:23
I am using FP2000

I am trying to set up a web page that will take orders for my company. I used the form wizard to create the page and I set up the database connection. It said I would have to change name to .asp, so I did. I was going through a FP2000 book and it said to create another folder, rename it, right click and go to properties. In properties it says to check the box to allow scripts and programs to run. I tried but it is greyed out I did go back and check the compatibility settings. They were correct.

Are you working on a disk-based web? If I recall, the option you are referring to will only work if you are working on a live server, not a disk-based web.

I am publishing it to a live server. I tried changing it on my computer and on the server (I used my computer that is linked via network). Do I need to goto the server itself to change it?

You may need to... I' ve worked with at least one hosting company that required I send them a service request form to make those changes

I went out on the server and right clicked on the folder containing my asp file. I clicked on " convert to web" and ran the page. It works fine but it doesn' t add the information to the database. The database is there and the fields are there, but the information I submit on the web page isn' t. What kind of server do I have to put this on for it to work? Does the database have to be on a seperate server?

Thanks for your help bobby and betheball!!!

So if I understand you correctly, you are not getting an error message, but the DB is not updating? Can you provide a link to both your form page and the page that shows the results?

I think we solved the problem. I need to run it on a different server. The server I am running on is a test server and is not set up for asp. Thanks for your help.
