I currently have both Dreamweaver and Front Page, however I only use Front Page. Thats why I' m at this forum. I assume that all of you use FP too, duh. Has anyone had any experience with Dreamweaver? What are the main differences and your opinion on it? Thanks.

Hi Steven,

Just go to " Search" up top and do a search for Dreamweaver. I think you' ll find that there are many here who use it and it' s been the topic of many a discussion.[;)]

I DreamweaverMX about 80% of the time now. I love the split screen where I can see my code and my page at the same time.

I use both FP2000 and Dreamweaver MX. I like the FTP utility in Dreamweaver a lot. The ability to selectively pull down or put a file is powerful. The chice of split screen or wysiwyg or all code is a great feature too. However I give it failing marks when displaying ASP pages that have include files. Sometimes I don' t get anything but the includes and can' t work on the content except for in the code. That' s a drag.

One other good thing about the latest version of Dreamweaver is it' s PHP compatibility. FrontPage at times corrupts PHP code. I' ve seen add-ins, such as PHP Rocket for FrontPage, but I' ve never used it. Until I got Dreamweaver, I had to use an editor called PHP Edit, which made the design aspect a little more time consuming.

I use both... different tools for different tasks. Frontpage does some things better than DW and so it is with DW. I usually use DW though.

For MX users: If you write WSH files be careful... MX will overwrite parts of your code. I found this out the painful way. There may be a check box similar to FP that I should have looked for, but it cost my former employer $$ so we went immediately back to Homesite.
