Almost Done, Please Help - 4/17/2003 19:25:37
I am ready to launch my site as soon as I have one vital element working.
I am trying to create a mail-to button that automatically opens a users email program (Hotmail, Outlook) inserts a subject line and several paragraphs of text into the body of an email(this has been the real challenge!) and then allows the sender to select address' s from thier address list to forward on the email.

I have been absolutely stymied by this challenge. I have received links to HTML that said it could do this but I could not get it to work. A web designer friend was able to get it working correctly but only on Navigator not IE. I REALLY need to lauch my site ASAP but this element has to be working. Can someone please help?

The site is already up and running and I will provide anything needed to get it done but I can' t spend anymore time trying to figure it out with my limited knowledge of Frontpage 2000. I really just need to be able to cut and paste the code and be confident it will work.

My extreme thanks and dinner on me to the person who can figure this out. I know it' s not as hard as it appears.

Please contact me at yoss1138@hotmail.com if you are willing to give it a shot.
Thank you so much in advance!

There are tricks that you can do, but not fully supported in all clients.
Could you perform a similar thing in a web based environment - similar to the post of this board?

Theres a read me on the mailto link here

I have seen this mail to generator before and it " sounds like" it should do exactly what I need. But it doesn' t work for me. I am using IE and the default email program is Hotmail. It fills in the To: address but not the Subject line or body of the text.:)
