HELP! CMYK in MSPD? PSP?? AHHH - 4/21/2003 17:32:22
I need to do some brochures and other things for printing. I usually just have them printed by sending whatever it is in a PDF file, but this particular printer needs CMYK...

I have done the business card in PhotoDraw. I have the PSP beta, but I am finding it very hard to figure out the darned thing! I also have publisher, but the graphics I have look horrid there.

ANY TIPS????

PDF is a file extension or file type, like GIF, JPEG, etc.

CMYK is not a file extension, it is a 4 color file type... that' s the easiest way to describe it...

Just like RGB colors are varying values of Red, Green and Blue - a CMYK file is made up of varying shades of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK

In Photoshop (working from memory here...) click edit > Modify > Convert to CMYK..? maybe...

My Photoshop is on my home PC so I' ll have to double check...

Contact your customer and find out what graphical format they want this in (probably TIFF, JPEG, or other...)

Convert it to a CMYK and then save in the file type that they want...

Does that make sense?

I have Paint Shop and it will print in the format I need, but nothing else.

Generally, I save graphics as PNG or TIF and then create a reader document for them. This has worked very well so far, but not for this.

If you save as .tif in Paint Shop Pro, you can click on the options button on lower right corner, one of the options is to save as CMYK colors. Possibly that will work for you.
