chef' s hat and a lunch box - 4/22/2003 8:25:39
I' m looking for free or cheap pics ( under a buck) I have been searching the sites you guys have listed here with no luck.

chef' s hat (strait cylinder type - with a classy feel)

old time lunch box (the plain metal with the rounded top)

Those are exactly what I' m looking for, but my problem isn' t really finding any pictures, but finding pictures that don' t cost an arm and a leg.

Can I use them for a commercial website without infringing on some rights or paying much of anything for them?

If you could let me know, I would appreciate it.

thanks
jim

Now that is a very interesting question and raises others. I can' t vouch for whether there are any copyrights on either image. I just popped on the web, copied them and posted them here. [:j]
Since you aren' t aware of possible copyrights and you have no idea where the images came from would you be held legally responsible if you used them? After all some anonymous person dropped them into a forum where you had asked a question as a response to your need. (Up ' til now" ) you didn' t know that person hadn' t pulled the items out of a drawer and taken a couple of pictures.:) Then on the other hand, since they are posted here are they now the property of Thomas Brunt or is Outfront now infringing on possible copyrights for the images? This is a forum but it is also part of a commercial website. I really don' t know the answer here but I wouldn' t like to think that by doing something as simple as posting a web image to the forum I could create a problem legally. :):):) I know there has been a couple of threads on copyrights posted here, I guess I' ll have to search for them...
Anybody have any input here?

Yep.

Unless you have permission from the owners of the images, or have paid for them, you are in breach of copyright by using them.

No ifs, no buts, no maybes.

Understood, what about the issue of posting an image here? Does that constitute copyright infringement? For example, certain avatars?:) It would definitely appear so (now that I' ve found those copyright posts).

Note the highlighted area.

Guess I have to change my Av and stop posting images from the web.[:' (]:):):)

Back to the task at hand, does anybody have a picture of a lunch pail and a chef' s hat? Royalty Free and under a buck.

Hi Jim,

How quick do you need these images? I have a young friend who just graduated chef school who I' m sure had to get a hat (I have a call in now). I can try to get a picture for you. I can probably find someone with that style of lunch box too but that might take bit longer.:)
If you need them quickly how about a picture of my lunchbox :)
and my chefs hat :)
I can' t show you my apron as it has questionable language printed on it.:)

Of course if you happen to actually need a chefs hat and a lunchbox the combined cost would probably be under $20.[:p]:) Sorry, just kidding.:)
