Continuing Problem with service.lck - 4/22/2003 14:54:35

I recently replaced a computer in our office and transferred several disk-based webs to the new machine. I am able to use the webs with no problem at the new machine, but on our networked machines I' m unable to make changes to these webs because of an error accessing the service.lck file.

I' ve checked the forums here, at Microsoft & elsewhere, and I' m told the file attributes were changed to read only when the files were transfered from CD. But none of them were marked read only when I checked. Some were marked " ready for archiving" which was new. I' ve deleted the service.lck file as indicated and made sure the attributes on the service and services files were not set to read only. But still having no luck.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Try to " Publish" one of the problematic webs to a new location and then access from the network and see if that makes a difference...
