Help with Basic Server Security... - 4/22/2003 21:59:36   
Hi:

At my office we buy a new 2000 web server, but i try to configure the basic security that it is created when you create the new web, but still alow user to edit my web from the outsite.
If anyone know what i' m doing wrong please let me know...or if know of any tutorial...

One of the better places to start for IIS info is http://www.iisfaq.com/

Of course, don' t forget the IIS documentation itself. You should be able to view the IIS included documentation by opening your web browser to http://localhost/iishelp

I would make sure to go to the microsoft site and download and apply all of the security patches and/or windows updates.

microsoft also makes a tool called the BSA, Baseline Security Analyzer, that can help you asses your server...
