Parcom trouble - 4/24/2003 8:30:03
I registered my domain www.r99t.ca with Parcom and had them host me. Apparently I have been billed but I can not yet access my domain to upload. According to every pc that I have access to the domain is not existing. How long does it normally take to get a new domain to go active? I registered almost a week ago and it has not yet been active. Parcom claims to normally have next day service and sites up within 48 hours. My domain however is not yet up and it has been almost 96 hours. Anyone with any ideas??

Contact Parcom?

Have you done a Whois search to see if your domain is listed?

Send them an email... I think it' s still support@parcom.net for support help.

My history with Parcom hasn' t been spotless, but overall it' s been a positive experience. There are quirks sometimes, but they' re always quick to respond if you' re having trouble...

I believe this one was resolved and had to do with a our domain approval requirement during the sign up process. All new domains registered with us require one security check to make sure a customer wants to register a domain (which is done via e-mail). This gives our customers one last chance to make changes (which happens a lot by the way). In this case, I believe R99T simply had to approve his new domain. This system of giving the customer one last chance not only reduced domain spelling errors, but also reduced fraud. :)

What could have happened was either the customer overlooked the approval request e-mail, or the e-mail got caught as an unknown source (possible spam) type deal as many customers toggle their mail settings that way now a days.

I believe this one is resolved. Thank you everyone that has helped here. But yes, support via e-mail or through our support request form is all that it takes to get prompt help.
