just need some exposure - 4/27/2003 20:45:45
Ok the setup is, I have a website in the works that to be a success will need a lot of exposure. A whole lot. I' m not selling anything, it' s a non-profit website at the moment. I' ll be paying for my webspace, and it' s being built through Frontpage. Sometime in the future, I would like to offer advertisement space to product suppliers, but only if traffic on my site becomes large enough. How can I go about getting this exposure? My reservations are it needs to be economical if possible, and I' d like to focus on the music community, although any exposure is good. I' m a little out of it at the moment - sorry if this post makes no sense, or is in the wrong place, or is just stupid. But any advice or help would be appreciated.

It' s hard to say without knowing more detail about the nature of the site. But the old methods still seem reliable. 1. Marketing via press releases. Possibly free depending what sort of marketplace you' re in. 2. Aliances with bodies that may offer cross promotion. 3. Use of stationery, car bumpers, business cards etc 4. Reciprocal links. 5. Referral programmes. 6. Great offer - give-a-ways Hope that gives you some ideas. Brainstorm - think outside the box. It' s getting harder, that' s for sure!
