I did a site for an alumni/ class reunion. Well the long and short of it all is that the school just contracted me to do five more sites for other reunion classes! Think of the possiblitiy! All of the college/school reunions ALL need sites! Maryland is mine! Barry

Whoooo Hooo!! - 5/1/2003 13:44:41 Good going there Barry: I did one for my reunion about 5 years ago. It was just super. I couldn' t get back east to be there in person, but the organizers and I set up a computer at the bar where the corresponding social event occurred, and we set up a chat room for all the folks who couldn' t be there... so that they could interact with the ones who were on location. At the time we didn' t have a webcam installed, but today it would be so easy to add that. This added a whole new dimension to the event, as those of us who couldn' t be there didn' t feel left out at all. We held our own little on line party and were joined by the others when they needed a break from the heat of the dance floor. I spoke with the Director of Alumni relations type person and showed them the site it did. I also had a refence letter from my client that said because of the site I did, the reunion was the biggest and best ever! I signed up all three!!!!! Come to find out that the alumni folks mission in life is to get the graduate to participate in stuff and give money to the school. All of their offices are way under staffed and no way to stay in contact with 900-12000 alumni. Some were snail mailing their whole budget away! They can' t wait to pay me! I actually started a site like this but didn' t finish it.... http://wahs87.tripod.com I like the main page, but the rest of it is TACKY, TACKY, TACKY...it was made in my " pre outfront" days. LOL The chat room is a GREAT idea! If I get a chance when I finish up some projects, I' ll look into building a new site , and not on Tripod! LOL...my awesome webhost has a chat room I can put up there... :-) Then I' ll contact my high school to find out how to pursue this. I get Eastern PA!
