Spelling Lesson - 5/1/2003 18:15:28
I just came from a meeting with a potential client and I got the job! This is a fairly large project including the corporate website as well as individual sites for separate divisions. I want to share something the client told me. In addition to the websites there will be a full color magazine. One of the companies (a very large well known one in our area) bidding on the magazine submitted a proposal that contained several spelling errors INCLUDING spelling the clients name wrong!! Can you believe it?????? There was no contest as to who he will be using. I was sure glad I had used spell checker plus I had someone in the office proof read my proposal. So.... for those of you who ignore typos and don' t use spell checker you may be losing business to the rest of us.

Among one the greatest tips ever recorded at Outfront, or elsewhere for that matter, Shirley. Thanks for it. I once told my web programming course professor that I' d love to get a part-time job working for a web development company. Confessed I doubted, though, that I could ever compete for a job with all the very bright techies in the class who were less than half my age. Expecting some deeply profound affirmation of my thinking, he simply turned to me and asked.... " But can they spell?!" gail

Very funny Spooky ! Its funny how we down in this general direction have different spellings for things. I try to modify my spelling to US when typing in this forum & back the good old English way when back on terra firma. Saves confusing you all. Does this make me bi-lingual??????????
