logo - 5/4/2003 23:29:21
can someone make a logo, that they made with adobe photoshop 7.0 and attach it here, so i can open it and view it as an example. i am a newbie, and i suck at photoshop, so seeing a logo that you experts made would familiarize my relationship with photoshop. i wont copy or give out any of your logos. please, attach some. thanks!:)

Go to www.bacwebdesign.com/shopping and click on " logos" . They are watermarked, but you might get some ideas.

Are there any ideas or tips you need specifically?

Almost any good graphic artist will tell you that logos are generally made in Illustrator, not Photoshop. Photoshop is best working with rasterized images (bitmaps). Logos should be vectorized (at least initially) for purposes of scaling. With Photoshop you will have to make your logo HUGE (300 dpi at least) to ensure that it can be used in print, web, etc, at any size.

Try to stay away from bevels, gradients, drop shadows, etc. Gradients generally will make your printing costs skyrocket, and as for legibility, the less gradients, the better. Plus bevels and gradients can look very amateurish if done wrong.

Check out www.angelomartinez.com. Every logo he has is vector, especially the illustrations.

Hope this helps a little.

Visualingo,

Thanks for making this point. I agree with this statement as it is and hope that others can use it for future reference.
