Is anyone really happy with their web hosting service? I' m in Mississauga, Canada and I' m looking for a web hosting provider that has good tech support, excellent uptime, good email service and supports Front Page 2002 and ASP. Any recommendations??? Doug.

Thanks, Nathan. From their web, they look pretty good. You said you ' used' to use them. Why did you leave?

Anybody else using CrystalTech? I am an Interland small reseller having trouble with asp/access aps crashing because their servers are filled with crap code (by others of course). Especailly interested in the stability of ASP. Thanks. ps- how do I get rid of " nervous newbie" next to my name? I am neither. And the profile section doesn' t seem to have a control option....

THAT' S the kind of thing that' s nice to know about a host BEFORE you sign with them. I would never put blind faith in just one person' s opinion, but when somebody has had an experience like that, it really makes me think twice. Other people' s mileage may vary, but I' m glad to know about your experience as I was considering that particular company myself. Thanks for posting yankeeblues.

I should clarify - Interland insists that if I upgrade from a $18 server monthly to $50 I won' t have that problem. But, CrystalTech gives you full SQL Server (10mb?) and ASP support for $18. I just set up a acct. with them and will post back if you are interested after I see how they do. I' ve had mostly decent experience with Interland and their Tech support is responsive mostly - BUT...all they want to do is get you back up and running again rather than fix the ' problem.' I have asked them to find the idiots running crap code on my server and kick ' em out but they are not interested. They' d rather sell a bigger $$ plan instead. So the site crashes every week or two.

Hypergig is really good and affordable. They run Win2000 and I pay only $9.95 a month for 50megs and is ASP, Frontpage, ODBC compliant. www.hypergig.com

I' ve been with AppliedI for almost a year, and they are fabulous. They have a lot of features and great customer support. If you don' t need all sorts of features (like SQL server), I have some sites with www.westpa.net. Both of these hosts are very stable, great uptime, and excellent support and response. WestPA is cheaper, but fairly bare bones compared to AppliedI. I had serious problems with Interland in the past. Some included them restoring servers from old backups (like >1 week), which wrecked pricing changes and product updates when they did that. On a busy e-commerce site, it caused a number of customer relation problems. This was on more than one occasion. They never fessed up, but I and the marketing director kept printouts to prove it. Tech support was terrible. I would never go back.
