Photoshop - Changing RED to BLUE - 5/10/2003 1:32:49
Question: i am getting past the intermediate level user stage in PHOTOSHOP and i now would like to be able to import a red rose and change it quickly to a blue rose, maintaining all the correct shading and highlights.

In the Photoshop file, select the layer that you want to change the color. Click on the layer effects at the bottom of the layers pallette. Select color overlay. In the popup box, click on the garrish red that pops up with it, use the eyedropper to select the blue of your choice, select OK, and taaadaaaa. You now have a blue rose. If this does not work the way you want, which depends on the graphic you have ...

Select the layer that you want to change the color, and select from the top nav

Image > Adjustments > Hue Saturation. A pop up box will allow you to adjust the hue, saturation and lightness until you get the blue that you want. Depending on the graphic that you are manipulating, one of these will definitely work for you.

Best,
Bonnie

Hue saturation may change the color of the rose' s stems and leaves though, so be careful.

You may want to try Image -> Adjust -> Replace Color.

Click the part of the image you want to change the colors of. I usually keep it on selection (even though you can' t see the photo), since this way is better to see how much of the color you grabbed using the fuzziness.

From there play with the fuzziness and the hue/saturations.
