Which is faster Access or SQL Server 2000? - 9/27/2001 20:15:00
Which is faster Access or SQL Server 2000?I don't expect many users on my site. Which is the better choice for grabbing records from a database with over 100,000 rows. Thanks, Skippy

I would suggest "try both" however the I think the speed restriction is not going to be the database. If this is simple Select * from table without any criteria I would go for a static page. ( SQL and Access will produce these for you) ------------------ Stuart Steele stuart@stuweb.co.uk http://www.stuweb.co.uk

Access will handle it, the main concern is the number of users. If its very small, and cost or administration is a problem, then by all means use Access. If you are perfoming lots of complex queries many times per page, and have a lot of users, go for SQL ------------------ §þððk¥ "I am Spooky of Borg.
