Legacy System Integration in Web proposal - 5/16/2003 9:25:42
I' ve got a Web proposal out to a client with the phrase " This quote does not include any legacy system integration." I' ve been asked to clarify in writing what this means for the client. I know what this means, I just want to make sure that I articulate this to the client in a way that the client and I both have the same expectations -- no misunderstanding. Can any of you share examples of how you might articulate this to a client to CYA? Thanks! Susan

I would say something like: quote:
Legacy systems are existing computer systems or applications that are used by your business. Integrating them into your website is not included in this quote. It is, to be frank, the sort of phrase I would not include in a proposal since if legacy systems integration was contemplated it would certainly have been specified and discussed, probably at some length before a proposal was requested. In any other situation it would pretty much be a given that that was not what you were about. If you do include such phases there is certain to be confusion.
