I' m having trouble with File > Save on a subweb. Can not see the directories or files that are actually in the subweb. I can save files by putting in the full path, or by opening a file in the folder I want to save my new file in, and using Save As. Have tried selecting different views and they all give me a blank window (or whatever that is called :)). The same subweb caused some stress this morning with DRW.

FP2000, Win2k, IIS.

Has anyone had this happen? I' d swear it was fine last week.... :) It' s only when I' m working live. Folder view is okay and F5 didn' t help.

Edit - just did a quick search, can not find solution but am relieved that it' s not just me...

Just a shot in the dark. Sure your working with a subweb and not just a folder?

This tells me you are not opening the sub web in question or you have a host configuration issue. I see that it worked fine last week so I am guessing talk with your host.

Yes, it is definitely a subweb :) I actually opened it up as a web, and not via the root, wonder if this could be an issue?

Brian, would you be able to explain ' host configuration issue' ( :) sorry!), it' s an intranet. Need to know roughly what I' m talking about before I hassle the sys admin. He had quick look yesterday and could not find anything but then got sidetracked by more pressing issues. I was working on it ' live' at home on Sunday (proxy) when I ran into this problem, but unfortunatley did not pay much attention - it was the same at work yesterday.

Thanks

Darn, opening it up via the root does not fix anything. Checked other subwebs, rootweb, and several directories and all is well - can see the content in the File > Save window. It' s only this particular one.

Sorry for wasting space by answering myself [:p] I know this is a fairly trivial problem but I like to know how and why things like this happen. This subweb has global.asa, index.html, 30 .htm files, 10 .asp files, several directories with an avg of 5ish files in each, also the FP ' fpdb' & assoc directories. I think that the blank Save As window first occurred just after using DRW (which probably has nothing to do with anything :) ).

What I would do at this point is start comparing the settings in IIS for the two webs. See if anything jumps out as different. I would hate to bug the sys admin but if all the other webs are working some setting or permissions might have been changed or has issues.

Thanks Brian :) I asked Sys admin (very nicely) to take a look as per your suggestion. He just sent a note saying ' try it now' . All is back to normal. Am not sure what the problem was but will ask at lunch.
