Welcome, zehra!

I think you need to be a little more specific with your questions. What are you trying to do and what kind of scripts will you be using?

There are plenty of people here who can offer a lot of advice, but I think they will need a little more background information.

Hi Zahra,

First off, the two programs people here seem to like best are FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Both work great and if you have frontpage, go with it. Dreamweaver does not mess the the code so much.

PLEASE forget that FrontPage has hover buttons. You don' t want to use them. Ask about the mouseover machine for your buttons, or you could check out http://www.flashbuttons.com for some neat ones.

You could post the URL here for some suggestions on changes or improvements. My websites also deal in selling large machines and there are some really helpful people here that will try to give you suggestions.

There are some uses for illustrator within frontpage.

First Page is a great tool... I love it. I use it almost as often as FrontPage these days (sometimes more :))

It' s free too!

There' s a link to a .zip file from my website: http://www.bdwebservices.com/t_resources.asp

Not as WYSIWYG as Front Page or DreamWeaver, but a great HTML/script editor.

:)

Given that I wrote them I am not pretending to hold them up as some sort of a bible but these articles about designing website may help to focus your mind on what you need to do:

I don' t know about " Bible" but they are some of the best ever written :)

zehra -
Do you mean rollover buttons that change when you hover your mouse? Or are you looking for really fancy animation?

For hover buttons first create the images (both " up" and " down" buttons for each link) and then use a rollover machine like this one:
http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/adv_tech/rollovers1.htm

Hmmm... yet another great tutorial... I wonder who wrote that one..?

Photoshop (If you can part with some $$$ :))
Paint Shop Pro
Image Composer (came free with FP 2000)
The Gimp

... any image editor will do... as long as it can export or save to GIF format.

MS stopped supporting it after 2000...

Paintshop Pro has a 30 day trial for free...

Or you can try a Google search for image editors, or graphics editors... see what comes up!

http://www.cnet.com may have some with free trials...

PageMaker is word processing software used to layout pages of books, etc.

PhotoShop is a graphics software that lets you create, and modify images.

Why use images at all in that case (whatever you do don' t use the Frontpage hover component horribly buggy and every first time uses them so they' ve been done to death .....

Why not use css instead - your links will look great and there is no overhead.

Abbeyvet has done very good tutorials on CSS on this site. Also see the css forum
