Online CSS Course - 6/10/2003 11:37:56
Here is a link to a free online 5-day course on CSS. I haven' t taken it, so this is not a recommendation, but it looks to be interesting. http://webdesign.about.com/library/style/bl_cssclass.htm Nancy

The virtual University have one also. I have not seen the content of it but their courses are generally extremely good: http://vu.org/calendar.html While there have a look at their new course - Tips and Tricks for Webmasters - which includes sections on how to install Perl and PHP scripts. They are not free - but you could do both courses and another one for good measure for $15 - which is as near to free as it gets!

Dan, Same thing here, I signed up for class 6/10 still only received 1st lesson that was promised . Not sure what deal is is them sending them. However if you go here you can request LOST lessons. Seems there should be better way to do this. Erin

Just finished up the course. Since I knew nothing about CSS (not anymore!) this was a great course for me. It went over the very basics, with examples. Each days worth of courses were fast reading (I actually did all five courses in a single sitting. And, I got two of the courses ahead of time, per my request) and easy to understand. I now feel comfortable with the general understanding and ability to read CSS. Now I just have to write some myself and try it out. Anyone know of a good site on CSS syntax, FAQs, tips and tricks or something like that. Any recommendations? Thanks again Nancy! -brian

About the " About" CSS Tutorial. I just finished Lesson 4. In Lesson three, two of her links did not work. The first one got the " page could not be found" message. The second on went to the wrong page. In Lesson 4 she was explaining Absolute Positioning. She gave no examples of code, so went to View Source. quote:
<p> Absolute positioning allows you to position an object precisely where you want it to be. This gives you a huge amount of control over your Web site. Even if the browser window is smaller than your page requires. </p> <p> Scroll to the left to see my image, positioned 500 pixels from the left. <div style=" position: relative; left: 500; top: 20;" > <img src=" http://a1028.g.akamai.net/6/1028/968/cdeaebfc020917/images.about.com/sites/guidepics/html.gif" width=" 50" height=" 50" border=" 0" > </div> </p> She used relative positioning. Correct me if I' m wrong. She also used a lot of Tables.
