Business leads- Part 1 - 6/11/2003 9:13:00
Hi All, In developing a relationship with potential and current clients, I have found a huge assortment of needs that the client ask if my business can do, or do I know anyone that can accomplish that service. You all know the problem. If you know someone/company do you reccommend them? I love to be helpful, and I see hot leads as gold. But when people screw up a lead or a client that shadows me. What do you do? Barry

Barry, It happens often that a client will ask a question about whether we can provide a service, or know someone who can. We try and offer as many of these services as possible, like hosting, domain rego etc. but when a service question comes up that we aren' t able to help with, and if I know someone who can do it - we will act as the go between for the client/lead and the other service. We will get a price from the service provider based on the specs provided by the client, and then provide a written quote to the client. Dunno if that helps/answers what you are asking, but hey, it' s late on a Thursday afternoon here in Oz, and it' s been a long day.

I' ve always used the " contractor - subcontractor" approach. I sub the work out to another developer - I bill the client - I pay the subcontractor.
