I would use the Resize dialogue box (Image/ Resize...). 1. Make sure there is a check mark beside " Maintain aspect ratio " so you don' t distort your photo. 2. Make sure there is NOT a check mark beside " Resize all layers" so you change the size of the photo only, not the whole image. 3. Click on " Pixel Size" - at the top of the dialogue box. 4. Set the width or height in pixels to match the required work space 5. Click Okay Cheers

Is this at all possible in PSP? Gail, I don' t think so but if you are using PSP8 there are a lot of provided picture frames. If you can find one of them that will work for your project it might speed up your job. Size your picture using the method Paperfish suggested then go to Image/Picture Frame to add the frame which will automatically fit the picture either inside or outside your choice. You can also use the provided script to resize or do a new script (easy to do) with your size requirements and that can speed up resizing many different pictures if they are all to be the same size.

Hi Gail, With most tools and functions, PSP remembers your last settings. You have to do the resize exercise the first time. After that, open the image, select Image/ Resize, and click Okay. Yes, it does seem slower than just clicking on a handle but you will get the same width or height every time.

I suppose the resizing and cropping, though it will take a bit longer, will have to be done manually since simply reducing the image size may not suffice. As an example of what I' m talking about, the pix on this page are only portions of larger images: http://www.the4cclub.org I sized each image layer visually with the handles, then repositioned it with the Move Tool behind the thin white frame layer until it was " cropped" to my satisfaction. Using the same settings for each image would not have worked. In any case, the information provided here will be helpful. Thank you again. gail
