Meta tag testing - 4/18/2000 21:37:00
When I posted an answer yesterday to Shannon's question about meta tags, I said I would post a url that I thought was helpful. That is www.ScrubTheWeb.com/ They do a free test of your meta tags and offer suggestions on improving them. I find it to be very usefull. I will add a little here, the first time I saw anything like this was doing some research on meta tags and another site had something similar, except they didn't really tell you how to fix the problems unless you paid them. So I got all these warnings your title and description have problems and your meta tags are horrible, send us $50 and join and we will tell you how to fix them. Well I didn't send the money, but I did get a few sleepless nights and some long hours doing more meta tag research. Scrub the Web has a nice site, and they will look at your meta tags the way a search engine does and help you improve them, and do it for free. ------------------
