Oh, how I wish the US courts would take a stance like that!! Instead, we allow the stupidest cases to make it to court. Examples: 1) Person gets hot coffee at a drive through and burns themself. It' s the restaurant' s fault for making the coffee too hot. 2) Person gets fat after eating out all the time. Again, it' s the restaurant' s fault for serving fast food. Personally, just once I' d like to see a headline that says, " Restaurant countersues; Claims plaintiff has the IQ of a slug"

Check out the True Stella Awards, an e-mail newsletter from the same guy who does the This is True one. In it he documents some of America' s more ludicrous court cases. Scary, but getting worse over here. clum1
