A confusing Problem - 7/8/2003 18:01:55
I need to set up a way so that a page would pull up a word document and display it in a browser window and that it would refresh every 15-30 seconds. I know that this is confusing. Essentially i want to have a table with the contents of a single cell being the word document. Can any one help?

It would be better and easier to have the files saved as PDF, then the user can view them easier, providing they have acrobat installed. there may be a way to pull up a word doc, but I am unaware what it is. Maybe someone else might know. Unless you want to make it an html page,,, Sorry. Gene

Just thinking outside of the box here, low tech... Why not, shudder, do a save as on your DOC to HTML. Now on the page that you want it use your normal page layout. Where the content of the page would go just insert the saved word HTML doc (I would think a new table with 100% width and only one <TD> would do it), less the <html> and less the <head></head> and also drop the ending </html> tag. In the head of the main page just add a META refresh tag for however many seconds that you want. I just did this as a test and it took about 30 seconds to do beginning to end. HTH, Brian
