Using Transparent Gif to get white space - 7/27/2000 20:47:00
This might be awful simple and every one but me probably knows this already but I have been working with web pages for a couple of years and only read about this last night.

Have a small simple rectangle (say 20pix X 20 pix) stored in your image folder as a transparent gif, and use it whereever you want white space. You can use the same image over and over again and adjust the dimensions of it to suit in FP.

Use the image to create indents at start of paragraphs, hold widths of columns in tables, or just to create white space where you need it. There are no doubt lots of other uses.

Hope this helps someone.

Somewhere on this page is a transparent gif.

Situation normal as I never win prizes for anything anyway.

Anyway, I have another use for my transparent image....

Use it as an image in a database field when there is no other image to show for that record, and you don't get that horrible missing image bit showing in your database result region.

Better yet make it 1 x 1.

I keep a blue one, a black one and a red one around, along with a clear one called "spacer." Very handy.

I used to make them 1x1 , but it makes it VERY hard to select it with the mouse to change the properties in wysiwyg view
